HOMEWORK POLICIES
At the end of the day students record their homework on his/her homework sheet in his/her binder. This is the student's responsibility to complete as I record the assignments on the class website. Assignments will also be recorded onto the homework page at mrslinstead.weebly.com.
Homework is due the day after it is assigned unless stated otherwise. It is to be handed in first thing in the morning or it is considered late and students will be expected to stay in during lunch recess to complete.
Late homework assignments will be dropped one letter grade for each day it is late.
Students who turn in all completed homework will earn a “brownie point.” When 12 brownie points have been earned by the student, he/she will receive a brownie from the teacher. Students will track their “brownie points” on a chart on desk or binder. Second semester students must earn 20 “brownie points” before earning a brownie.
Students who are ill or absent will have as much time as needed (within reason) to complete missed assignments and tests.
If your child is going to be absent for an extended amount of time I appreciate advanced notice. Also for it to be excused you need to complete the form from the office. As for homework that is missed during this absence, it will be placed on the student's desk and organized for his/her return. I will help with teaching any missed concepts and give an ample amount of time for the work to be completed. It is difficult to gather homework in advance because of the in class instruction that occurs and the challenge of adjusting assignments when additional teaching might be needed.
Study guides are assigned before a test. These reviews give a very complete overview of what students will see on the actual test.
