Coffee Hour: Coffee Hour was our time on Friday morning to read the Scholastic News and drink our "coffee." (Coffee being our milk.) We got to kick and put our feet up on the desks, lay on the floors, crash on the couch, and generally kick back and read about the presidential election and putting advertisements on school buses. We also learned about poisonous frogs and some very old statues. Science: We began studying the scientific method this week. We learned about how scientists use the skills of observation and classifying quite often in their investigations. We practiced those skills by classifying different types of candy, writing utensils, books, and misc. classroom items. It was fun especially when we got to eat a piece of candy at the end of the activity. In music class we got to play different instruments to practice rhythms. We were very busy this week. We finished our novel, Chocolate Fever, took our first 2 minute time test, and played around with Smart Notebook. From these activities we set some goals for the weekend and next week. First, we need to practice our multiplication facts. Otherwise our homework assignments will take a long time in the future. Second, we need good listening ears in the the computer lab because Mrs. Linstead gives a lot of directions. Third, we can't wait to start our next novel on Monday.
