This week we started reading Holocaust novels. They are Snow Treasure, Behind the Bedroom Wall, and Number the Stars. All threes stories involve children and their role in the holocaust. Mrs. Fortney told her story about growing up during WW II. She talked about what things were scarce, like sugar, tires, candy, and meat. She talked about how she and her parents had to sell their car. Mrs. Brachbill spoke about her mom's experience growing up in Germany during WWII. She talked about many of the experiences we are reading about in our novels. We learned about adverbs. These are words that describe a verb and tell how, when, and where. We made an adverb donut while we were eating a donut.
