Seat of a Lifetime Assembly
3rd-5th grade students attended an assembly today about bullying. There were atheletes from the UofI. There was a swimmer, golfer, two football players, and two basketball players. They did a skit about how to stop bullying on the bus. They gave away tickets to a basketball game and a limo ride to the game to two students.
We did a mystery skype call with a class from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada this week. We asked questions to figure out where they were in the world. They did the same to us.
We learned how to interpret our remainders in division this week.
Miss Leake finished reading a novel called the Janitor's Boy.
For the past couple of weeks we have been learning all different types of figurative language including similes and metaphors. This week we wrote a simile and then turned it into a metaphor about ourselves.
